3rd Grade Math BLOG POINT

3rd grade math group! Here is your first blog point. In order to get the "blog point" complete the math problem below. To respond, click with your mouse on the word 'comments' below this post. When you click on the work 'comments,' it should allow you to write in a white box. Answer the problem and tell me why you think your answer is right! You must tell me why in order to recieve the point.

The problem:

Miss Mulvahill would like to build a fence around her yard for her puppy. Last week she measured the yard and it turned out to be a perfect square! However, Miss Mulvahill's puppy chewed up the paper she wrote her measurements on. All she has now is the measurement of one side. It was 10 feet long. What are the measurements of the other sides of the yard? What is the perimeter of the yard?

Good luck solving the problem 3rd graders! If you would like more practice with perimeters, copy and paste the link below. It is a perimeter math game!

  4. If it is a square, then each side is equal lengths. So if one side is 10 feet, then each of the other sides are 10 feet. The perimeter is the toal of all the sides so it is 40 feet.
