Welcome back to school boys and girls!
It was great to see all of you and hear about your break. Today was a busy day. Here is an update for the different grade levels:
5th Math: We are continuing to work on division. Today, we worked on our map skills as well. HW is to finish the worksheet from class. Be ready for more division practice tomorrow!
5th Reading: This week we are reading: Kate Shelley. Homework tonight: Worksheet practice with graphic sources and bring in an article or story about a kid who has done heroic deeds. Vocab words for the week: dispatched, downpour, heroic, locomotives, rescuers, schedules, rugged.
3rd Math: We have started Chapter 5! Make sure to complete 5.1 Math Journals pages 102 and 103 for tomorrow.
3rd Reading: Tell your parents all you learned about Antarctica and the South Pole today!
3rd Writing: Today we reviewed letter writing and writing conventions. Tomorrow, we will be writing letters to me about your break. This is considered our "writing test." Review before coming to class tomorrow!
Great job today and I'm glad to have all of you back. I look forward to a great 2010!
