5th Grade Reading Students,
This week we will begin working in new reading groups. Each student has a partner and a group that will be reading the same novel. During the next few class periods, students will be expected to both read and respond to their literature each day. Some assignments will be taken home as well. If you have any questions regarding your group or assignments, don't hesitate to ask!
I look forward to getting back into our "normal" reading grind!
Sincerely,
Miss Mulvahill

3rd and 5th Grade
Families and Students,
This is a busy week! Both grades will be completing their MCA exams this week and next. BOTH grades have worked very hard this year, so I am excited for them to show what they have learned.
Due to the busy schedule, students will not be meeting in their regular classes or class times. Therefore, homework and assignments may not look quite the same or be as regular as usual. In 2-3 weeks, we should be back on schedule!
Good luck testing the next two weeks!
Have a great day.

Updates from room 214
Hello families and students!
It has been great getting to know many of your families through conferences this past week. Students, I have enjoyed sharing all of your hard work in the classroom. Here is an update from today:
5th Math:
6.4 Study Link is due tomorrow. Discuss with your parents why someone might take a sample of a population. Would you trust a small or a large sample size more??
5th Reading:
Test tomorrow! The Sugihara Story. Don't forget to complete 2 of the 5 comprehension questions.
Also, if you haven't yet, remember to be prepared to "teach the class."
3rd Math:
What are the different parts of a fraction? Can you think of a real like use for fractions?
8.1 Homelink due tomorrow!
3rd Writing:
What makes up a paragraph? Tomorrow we will continue to work on our final drafts of our season paragraphs.
Don't forget to stop by the Book Fair! Unfortunately, you will NOT be seeing me in a Captain Underpants Costume! :)
Have a great night!

Update
I apologize for not blogging recently! I have been trying to keep up to date with the Twitter Pictures of homework and schedules, so hopefully you have been able to see them. This week was a little crazy with the schedule due to the MAP testing. However, we are starting to get back into our normal sync! Hope you have a great weekend.
